Our Regenerative Homesteading Journey

A woman with dark hair, wearing a black tank top and black pants, smiling and standing outside a small wooden shed in a wooded area with a shovel leaning against the shed.

Our path to regenerative homesteading began as a blend of two worlds I had worked in the medical and farming industries. From medical, I witnessed how much of people’s illness was tied to food. From farming, I saw how commercial agriculture was harming not only the earth but also our health. Fields drenched in pesticides and chemicals eventually ended up on grocery shelves—and into our kitchens. That realization shook me deeply. I knew that if I wanted change, it had to begin at home.

Then came the pandemic of 2020. The lines, the shortages, the uncertainty—it was the final push. It was either go all in on creating a regenerative homestead or risk being swept under. So we began—with chickens. We had always gardened, but this was different. It was time to go bigger, deeper, and take a leap of faith. Soon after came ducks, rabbits, and bees.

One rule guided every decision: every animal we brought here had to serve a purpose and live in harmony with the land. I wanted to build something sustainable—not extractive.

What I didn’t expect was the healing this journey would bring—to me, to my family, and to the land itself. Regenerative homesteading slowed us down, helped us listen, and taught us to follow the rhythms of the seasons. For years in medicine, I preached about “eating with the seasons,” but it wasn’t until this life that I finally lived it.

If you feel that tug in your heart to begin, I encourage you to follow it. I believe it’s your inner truth awakening to the ways our world has gone sideways—and a call to restore balance. The time is now to slow down and begin repairing what has been broken.

I offer in-person workshops to share how we began, and I’m currently creating step-by-step guides for those who want to walk this path too.

More to come, stay tuned!

Backyard with a grassy lawn, a two-story white house with a porch, surrounded by trees and a clear blue sky.
A small construction site in a wooded area with a compact bulldozer, a partially excavated circular area with rocks around the perimeter, and a small white shed in the background.

Dream big. Start small.
Bust most of all, start.
