Homeschooling Journey
I’ll be honest—writing about homeschooling still stirs up guilt and self-doubt. I question every day whether we chose the right path for our kids. But here’s what I do know: Kyle and I couldn’t ignore how disconnected the school system has become from what we value. The focus on standardized topics, the loss of basic life skills, and the push toward screens for younger and younger children didn’t sit right with us.
We believe it’s possible to raise children who are respectful, rooted in faith, and filled with compassion—qualities the world desperately needs. And while there isn’t one “right” way to educate, we refuse to be convinced that the traditional system is the only way.
Through countless conversations, I’ve realized many other parents feel the same unease. They see the cracks in the system but often fall back on it out of convenience or lack of support. That’s why I’m here: to go first, to show that another way is possible.
The time is now to listen to the pull in your heart. When enough of us follow that inner truth, tides shift, winds change, and healing begins.
I don’t claim to have all the answers, but I know this—community makes the journey lighter. At Woodland Farms, I’m building a space for families walking this path together. Stay tuned as I share how I’m being divinely guided to grow this vision.
If homeschooling has been on your heart but you don’t know where to begin, lets connect.
Land Gatherings
On select days, the land is opened as an offering—a gentle space for women and children to gather, explore, and move with the rhythms of nature and their own curiosity. This space is reserved for women and children (with the exception of boys 16 and older). Please check the calendar below for upcoming open days, and kindly RSVP to join us.
